ITM Law School is a next generation Law School established with the object of providing world class legal education, which aims at preparing legal professionals who will play decisive leadership roles, not only as advocates practicing in courts, but also as academics, legislators, judges, policy makers, public officials, civil society activists as well as legal counsel in the private sector, maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and a spirit of public service.

The Hon’ble President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, at the inauguration of the National Law School of Delhi University on September 3, 2008 highlighted that “…We are living in challenging times when tremendous changes are taking place in the world. Legal systems have to cope with the impact of 21st century technologies in the fields of Information Technology, bio-technology, medicine and intellectual property. Business and commerce now operate in an international environment. Legal education must equip law professionals to meet the new challenges and dimensions of functioning in a globally integrated world. Expertise in international law and knowledge about legal systems in other countries is still lacking in our country. Law courses must take international and comparative law perspectives in the syllabi along with necessary understanding of domestic law…”

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh while inaugurating the Conference of National consultation for Second Generation Reforms in Legal Education in New Delhi on May 1, 2010 rightly pointed out that “…the most challenging tasks in legal education in India is to strike a proper balance to ensure that our students are taught a fair mix of courses that give them knowledge and training in Indian law, but at the same time prepare them for facing the challenges of globalization, where domestic legal mechanisms interact with both international and foreign legal systems. This interaction is going to deepen in the years to come and our law schools must prepare themselves to face this challenge…”
